August 13-19 is Safe and Sound Week

The OSHA Safe & Sound Campaign is loaded with great information to help companies raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in the workplaces. While this is an Annual event, it is something you can conduct year round. There are many locations where you can sign up and register to participate in the event. Check out the event’s homepage for more info on the what, why, who and how!

Step 1 of registration will allow you to select your activities from the below.

  • Management Leadership – It means that business owners, executives, managers, and supervisors make safety and health a core organizational value, establish goals, provide resources, and set a good example.

  • Worker Participation – is meaningfully engaging workers at all levels in establishing, implementing, evaluating, and improving safety and health in the workplace.

  • Find and Fix Hazards – A systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards is a proactive, ongoing process to identify and control sources of potential injuries or illnesses.

Step 2 will then take you through planning and promoting your events. Including access to event tools, graphics and signage, customizable communications and recruitment tools.

Step 3 is optional but greatly appreciated and will allow OSHA to recognize your participation in this event. The site also provides past events for you to review and an option for contacting OSHA directly.
