To provide assistance to Nevada employers with workplace safety and health issues, the State of Nevada Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) offers safety and health consultation services and employee training.

SCATS to host OSHA’s Pacific Coast Safety Fest March 6-10 in Henderson

SCATS will host the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Pacific Coast Safety Fest for Region IX on March 6-10 at their offices in Henderson. The Pacific Coast Safety Fest is a free, informative seminar designed to enhance workplace safety. Attendees receive credit for authorized OSHA Education Center classes and a certificate of attendance for all classes. The SCATS team will lead sections of the seminars including Heat Illness Prevention and will present on the free and confidential consultation and safety services SCATS offers to assist businesses in Nevada to be in compliance with OSHA standards. In addition, 10Hr Construction and 10Hr General Industry classes will take place at the Nevada State Museum in Las Vegas.

SCATS Awards Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. with SHARP Award

The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) of the State of Nevada’s Division of Industrial Relations recognized Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. in Henderson, Nev. on February 8, 2017 for their successful entry into the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).

Per NRS 618.950 employers and employees in the Construction industry must complete MANDATORY OSHA 10 AND OSHA 30 Training. OSHA 10/30 hour construction class schedules and online registration is available at http://4safenv.state.nv.us
